After writing some songs for Kylie Minogue, Kish Mauve released ‘Black Heart’ earlier this year. They’re pretty super; here’s one of their tracks, ‘Morphine’ from the album. Unfortunately this album is near impossible to get in Canada… not sure about the U.S.

I ran out yesterday to purchase the new Dragonette album, Fixin To Thrill and was thoroughly disappointed immediately not to find ‘Don’t Touch My Things’ among the roster of songs but there’s talk that it will float on by as a B-side in the coming future. I sure hope so. Let’s take a walk through Dragonette’s videos (sorry for the quality of some these. It seems YouTube is the only place I could pull them from):
I have the pleasure of seeing Dragonette live again for the 3rd time on October 14th at The Whiskey in Calgary and joining them as a guest is Ruby Jean & The Thoughtful Bees, a Halifax electro band. There’s nothing here that hasn’t been done before but Ruby’s (aka Rebecca’s) vocals and the band’s electro sound provide some good dance tracks that are both quirky and catchy.
Check out the cover of Paula Abdul’s ‘Cold Hearted’ they recently did:
Only 2 days away from release, BoA’s re-hash of her first English self-titled album now titled BoA Deluxe is sure to please. Being released with three new tracks (and if you order from mu-mo.net, an exclusive B2 poster) as well as new cover art, hopefully this amazing asian artist can finally get some well-deserved exposure.
Upon first listen of Art vs. Science’s Hollywood EP I was both delighted in such a way that dancing ensued and awestruck. The lyrics are fun and creative and hopefully we can see a debut full length album come out of these guys soon.
PS – You might never get Parlez Vous Francais out of your head. Ever.
